Speeding down to Hakkeijima, an open path in front of my and the wind at my back. The crowds of workers spilling out factories straight after the 5:00 siren were far behind me as my speedo hit 35. Feeling great- a couple of kilometres to the sea.

Then an upturned yellow paving slab- the kind put out for blind people- was rushing towards my in my field of vision. Glad I saw that was the last thing I thought before I was airborne…
